Not all great coffee comes out of an espresso machine.

There are many other brewing methods which you can use in the comfort of your own home. Regardless of your preferred brewing method, what you put in is what you get out.

The first steps to your coffee journey start with any of our excellently roasted blends which have been developed to optimise your chosen brewing method. We have done the hard work so you can enjoy the results. Check out some brewing tips below about some common methods and most importantly, sit down and enjoy your Kaldista coffee.

Filter Machine

  • Preheat your flask with hot water.
  • Place the filter paper in the brew basket of your coffee machine.
  • Fill the reservoir with fresh cold water.
  • Add 10-15g of Kaldista coffee for every 200 ml cup.
  • Once the water stops dripping, your Kaldista coffee is ready to enjoy.

Plunger/French Press

  • All you need is your plunger, hot water and your favourite Kaldista ground coffee.
  • Heat the water to approximately 95 degrees (just below boiling).
  • Add one to two tablespoons of Kaldista coffee for every cup of coffee (or approximately 15g for every 200 ml of water).
  • Place the ground Kaldista coffee in your preheated plunger, soak it, stir it and top up with your hot water.
  • Stir the coffee again after 2 minutes.
  • Add the plunger lid and allow your Kaldista coffee to brew for 3 – 4 minutes.
  • Push down the plunger handle, pour and enjoy.

Moka Pot

  • Ensure your moka pot is clean and ready for use.
  • For best results, choose a coarse-ground Kaldista coffee.
  • Fill the bottom section of the moka pot to just below the pressure release valve, using hot water.
  • Fill the basket with your Kaldista ground coffee, but don’t compress it!
  • Carefully place the basket into the bottom half of the pot, and screw on the top half. Use a cloth to avoid getting burnt!
  • Place on the stove or gas burner.
  • As the water evaporates, steam pressure will force the brewed Kaldista coffee into the top half of your moka pot.
  • When your moka pot begins to ‘gurgle’, remove it from the heat and place it under cool running water to halt the brewing process.
  • Sit down, relax and enjoy your Kaldista coffee.
