At Kaldista Coffee Company, we’re not just big on flavour. As well as coffee beans, we also care deeply about the communities we work and live with, the environment and the future.

To make coffee, you need beans, hot water and community. South Africa is our community, and we’ve left no stone unturned to find organisations who can help us give back to the people who nurtured us and our ideas.

Talk is cheap, and actions speak louder than words. That’s why we’ve handpicked charitable partners who share our vision and who can translate our donations into transformative opportunities for underprivileged families.

Our Future – where we’re heading

The future is in the hands of the next generation. Fortunately, in South Africa, we can look forward to the leadership of the ‘born free’ generation. We’re inspired every day by their energy, imagination and passion – but everyone could use a helping hand when they’re starting out in life. That’s why we’re backing two South African charities that focus on our youth: Pathways-Pretoria and Meals on Wheels.

By supporting drives to feed, clothe and empower our youth we aim to do our bit for the future and the people who will shape it.

An important part of the Kaldista culture is being Proudly South African. In other words, giving back to our local communities, engaging with other like-minded business in the supply chain and supporting the NGOs who are making a difference. As a country, we know that we need to support one another as much as possible if we are to achieve our full potential – and change the world for the better.

Pathways-Pretoria

Pathways-Pretoria are situated in the East of Pretoria. They were founded in 2002 by Tammy Greyling (Occupational Therapist), Danita Nel (Speech and Language [AAC] Therapist), and parents who were struggling to find a facility that catered to the needs of children living with moderate to severe disabilities.

Our Environment – where we live

Empowering and enabling South Africa’s youth will ensure that our future is in safe hands. Before that can happen, it is our responsibility to provide them with a future to inherit. We recognise that the two oceans that define our coastline are essential to our collective survival, so we are supporting Sea Shepherd in their efforts to protect marine ecosystems.

Sea Shepherd

Sea Shepherd is an international, non-profit marine conservation organization that engages in direct action campaigns to defend wildlife, and conserve and protect the world’s oceans from illegal exploitation and environmental destruction.
